Course Description
Visualize an Organized Workplace!
A visual workplace is the essential foundation for successful lean implementation. Our Visual Workplace Master Series will teach you simple and cost-effective tools to build that foundation. And the benefits of a visual workplace are unmistakable -- improved safety, shortened search time, reduced costs, just to name a few.
At this intensive three and a half-day kaizen event you will learn the methodology needed to implement the visual workplace in your own facility while beginning to build a culture of continuous improvement. This workshop is a rare opportunity for you to learn the principles of visual control systems, to immediately put those principles into action in the workplace, and then take home the new skills you’ll need to launch the visual workplace in your own company.
The Visual Workplace event is not an awareness course but an interactive learning experience that improves real processes in a real company. During this 3.5 day hands-on event you will discover how to systematically and strategically apply proven techniques of 5S, visual display, visual metrics and visual controls all the while learning how to build a culture of continuous improvement.
In the classroom you will learn the principles of a visual management system by applying them in a simulated work environment. Then moving into the workplace on the second and third days, you will begin to implement 5S to get the workplace organized. You will also utilize other visual management methods to improve communications, quality, and adherence to standards.
The last day of the event consists of team presentations. Each team will share their experience, the obstacles they’ve overcome, and the successes they achieved. At the end of the week you will return home with an understanding of how you can create your own visual workplace and the facilitation skills to get things done.
Benefits of a visual workplace include:
- Improved safety Critical information available at a glance
- Decreased process time Reduced search time
- Reduced inventory Improved communications
